If other people moved hard into power themselves keep making a huge profit off of the silicon and swap your power tiles for something else instead. Pleasure domes are really good right now, that silicon tile you took can be used along with 2 claims to maek a nice triangle of food/electronics. Water would allow you to move into food at level 3, and by crashing the food price early you can prevent those pesky sciences having things to sell for glass that is not steel.Īt level 3 you can do many things depending on the market, and really it's up to you, but don't mine iron. The silicon allows you to profit heavily if others start moving into power early with solar panels, carbon for a similar reason and also to allow you to move into electronics. My personal choice at level 2 is to get the third solar panel if the first auction was not for a geothermal and then to grab a silicon next to your base and then either go for a water or carbon tile. Your level 2 will be much slower than everyone elses, but since you've decided you arn't making steel you already have a lot of options with what you want to do.

You cannot go 3 solar panels however, that crashes the price of power and you also need that aluminium income to allow you to upgrade in a timely manner. Those 2 solar panels between them may only produce $50 each, but that is mroe than msot other tiles at the start of the game. This means a power play is incredibly good as a robot. Another huge advantage for robotic is that they don't get as much debt as other HQ's, because they don't buy life support. This also allows you to do the now standard robot opening, 2 solar panels and an aluminium mine. Your goal is to remove as much silicon from the map as possible, keeping perhaps some for yourself. The best opening as a robot by far is to settle in the mdidle of a lot of silicon. This makes others sell more steel, lowering the costs of upgrading for you.

You can buy into glass to make it expensive, but it's even better to make all the other resources so expensive that glass is not worth it to make. Aluminium is really easy to mine so in large multiplayer games, when glass gets extraordinarily expensive, you can still expand at a good rate. The main strength of a robotic player by far is the fact that you don't need glass to upgrade your HQ. In a similar idea, you can make food, but don't make electrolysis reactors because then your lowering the oxygen price.

Indeed, a strong idea is to attempt to remove and cotnrol as much silicon as you can to make it harder for someone else to make glass and bring it's price bakc down. Make the most money and upgrade when your opponents sell down steel to buy glass to upgrade themselves. Instead, be efficient with what you have. Since the adjacency bonus change and the black market no longer guarantees new claims i've felt that robots cannot adequetly mine iron and steel enough to compete. Yes, that's right, robots don't make steel. This means if you have players going scavenger and robotic, don't play robot. Never play them when your opponents are not steel-making factions. Robots are situational, don't try to make them the standard. Never play it when you could play expansive instead. I am not a consistent robotic player, but when I do play him I have success, so i'll share my opinion: Promotional submissions that exceed "2 per 1 per 1"ĭuplicate results posts for the same individual match will be removed.
